About NepaliConvert

NepaliConvert is a free collection of tools for everyday problems with Nepali text and images: converting between Unicode and Preeti, getting a photo under a form's size limit, reading text from a scan, and more.

Why we built it

Nepali computer users run into the same problems again and again. A document typed in Preeti shows up as English letters on another computer. An online application rejects a photo for being 3 MB instead of 200 KB. A printed notice has to be retyped by hand. Many of the existing tools are cluttered with pop-ups, slow, or ask you to upload private documents to an unknown server.

We wanted simple tools that work fast, look clean on a phone, and respect your privacy.

Your files stay on your device

Every tool on NepaliConvert runs inside your web browser. When you convert text, compress a photo, crop an image, read text with OCR or create a QR code, the work is done by your own device. Your text and files are never uploaded to our server. This makes the tools faster, and it means you can safely use them with ID documents, certificates and personal photos.

What you can do here

We also write guides that explain the problems behind these tools, such as why Preeti text breaks and how to prepare photos for online forms.

Accuracy

We test our tools carefully. The Unicode to Preeti converter is checked against a large set of words and conjuncts, and QR code designs are tested by decoding them with QR reading software. Still, no automatic tool is perfect, especially OCR. Please check important results before submitting them anywhere official. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
